The Eastern Painted Turtle, Chrysemys picta picta, is the most common basking turtle. Eastern painted turtles range from southeastern Canada through New England. They are found in Atlantic coast states south to nothern Georgia and eastern Alabama. Painted turtles are omnivorous. |
